Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the direct competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for HBB has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with biotin-conjugated HBB. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between HBB (Standards or samples) and biotin-conjugated HBB with the pre-coated HBB antibody. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substmonkeye solution is added to the wells and color develops in opposite to the amount of HBB bound in the initial step.
